I laugh at my mistakes.

111, you're doing fine!

I agree and there should be more people with such an attitude practising, but what do the poor Finns do: They definitely do not know English and they don't care.

I don't think thats true.
Actually, I think they (and I) need more self-confident to use english. It don't need to be so perfect.

It's kind of irritating to read these comments from people who think they are better than someone else. Who do you think you are to judge other people's language skills or willingness to learn languages? We all make choices and live with the concequences. I know enough English for my needs but I would not dream to have such a condescending attitude towards someone who chooses not study English or any other language.

I wonder if the initiator of this thread (chain ;-) has any chances to speak English.
Let's have a poll, how many of you use English on weekly basis or more often?
I speak English daily at my work.

Well, it's totally ok to not study English - but you don't have to write in "English".

Are you 111 perhaps.
- need to be this or that

You must try to write in normal English and it means proper English.
No, 120 is not me :D Where did you get that idea, 124? It's good to hear that I'm not hopeless when it comes to writing English. Speaking is a different matter though... - 111

You are the only one who really knows English.
Love this thread (or should I say 'chain' :D) - hilarious displays of one-upmanship by grammar Nazis, and excellent Finnish humour!
I've never understood why us Finns beat ourselves up for not having perfect English. I'm in the UK, and whenever my Finnish friends come over to visit, the one who always makes friends with the locals is the one who doesn't speak perfect English, makes up her own words if she doesn't know something (or waves her hands a lot), and doesn't give a f*ck about getting the grammar right. A lot of Finns who are obsessed about speaking English correctly just end up sounding like newsreaders - sort of clever but weird.
Night-night comrades
