State of Michigan vs Lisa Holland

Lisa Holland is charged with the murder of her 7-year-old adopted son, Ricky Holland. The state claims that Lisa hit Ricky on the head with a hammer causing his death. They also claim that Lisa subjected Ricky to years of physical and emotional abuse. They also contend that Lisa Holland made it her goal to have Ricky diagnosed with several severe mental illnesses in order to receive increased government benefits for his care.



The defense contends that their client did not murder Ricky - Tim Holland, her husband murdered Ricky.



Tim Holland was also charged in the crime. He accepted a plea agreement in late September 2006 of second-degree murder in exchange for his truthful testimony against his wife in her trial.
