I'd like to see if any of you are able to have a decent conversation in English. Not that it would be possible here no matter what language we use but let's give it a go and see if we're any better than the ones we're making fun of.

Yes, I consider myself bilingual. I was born in Finland, but started speaking English when I was about... 10, I think. I live on the West Coast in the USA, so standard California English for me, I'm afraid... like totally. :D

Well nuffin much. Thought I was doing pretty well, beaten a nasty flu, but naah, it stroke back. Had to cancel my plans of having a stroll with a friend, as well as going to a meeting. And I'm one more day behind in replying a heap of e-mails... So there you go.

Just like I excepted. On AV, there's no such thing as good English. That's for sure. Today I had a lunch with my British co-workers and it's obvious you'd been in trouble - big time. I guess you're English is fluent enough to order potatoes and meatballs during your Canaria trips but for anything else... just no. Nice try.

[/quote] Dear nuffin, don't try to write slang when your English is kind of weak. You might want to check what stroke means, maybe you should have used struck. And do try to reply to the heap of mail.

OP, I think you should have given us a subject to talk about. It feels funny to write here without having a subject.
I wonder how people here learned their English? I have never lived abroad, so I have learned it in school mostly. I guess it helped that I used to watch too much telly and browse the interwebs all the time. I feel that I have a decent vocabulary, but I am horrible at using puctuations. I know the rules pretty well when writing in Finnish, unfortunately they are of little use with this language.
