Children as young as a few months old can be branded “witches” and rejected by their families or much worse—some are doused in acid baths, buried alive or poisoned, others are chained and tortured in churches in order to extract “confessions” of sorcery.



Young children who are naughty or hyperactive, children who like to sleep outside at night when the weather is hot, or even babies who cry a lot have also been accused of witchcraft.
