whta do you think about my friend?
i thought the idea of writing in english was pretty good!
let´s continue with the same idea, then. i have a friend, who´s married to a foreigner (not native english speaker) man. tehy have two children (one 3-year-old and other under 1) they have now decided to talk only english with each other and hope this way the child will learn english, too. they live in finland.
i think this s ridiculous idea! poor cildren. noe they will not only learn bad english but also bad finnish. how will they learn to express their emotions?

anyway, kids will learn finnish outside the house playing with other kids.
So i think situation won´t be so hopeless.
where is the responsibility of parents!?
But if I trouble you so much, i' m out..
Happy now?
It dependes a lot on how well the parent´s speek the forein language.
I´m Irish, but because I´ve lived in Finland for so long, my english has becum weeker, so it was definetly clear to me to speek finnish to my children.
When my children are a bit older, I´ll probably get them checked into a english-speeking daycare.
I think that´s the best way for them to learn english, not threw me.
Typoja tulee suomeksikin.
Do you use some slang or why your written language is so bad?
they are making a big mistake as parents, in my opininon. i did never have the courage to say it out loud..
this is not slang, it it a grammar mistake. typical for non-native writer..:0)
kirjekaveria tms?
this is not a school! i asked about my friend: does she do a favour or mistake?

my speeking too. But it´s true, belive it or not I´m Irish. One of the main reasons why my english has become so bad is because I simply don´t really use the language all that much.
I was under ten when we moved to Finland and me and my siblings started a finnish speeking primery-school strait away.
So about 17-18 years ago I could´nt speek a word of finnish, only english and now finnish is without a doubt my strongest language
: Irish
who am i to judge your writing skills anyway..:/
That´s usual with natives actually.
should just relax.
If you can understand what other people are writing, then why is it a problem if they don´t know for example how to spell words?
English is not our mother language, so it´s very natural that everyone doesn´t know how to write words, or put them into right order.
And practice makes perfect ;)
Let´s stop the fighting, and talk about the original subject.
I think it´s not a good idea to teach your children a language, that is not your own. Specially, if neither one of the parents speak english as their mother language. But it´s everyones own business, what they teach to their children, and I don´t really think that it helps if we argue about it here in the baby pages. Or are you going to show this conversation to your friend?
i don´t talk bad english to my kids. i suffer from my own mistakes.
