Mihin tuo sana "band" viittaa? Alla hiukan konseptia. Koko tekstiä ei tarvitse kääntää, vain tuo band-sana. Häiritsee kun en tiedä suomen kielistä termiä.

Conduction Bands in Metals

As a cutout of a crystal let us consider a file of atoms in one line. The course of the
potential of an electron along this line shows maxima at the half distance between
two atoms. If this potential maximum is higher than the upper edge of a band, one
deals with a valence band, which does not allow electron mobility. If it is lower,
the corresponding band is a conduction band. (for the example given below this is
a 3s band)
