I have a feeling that when one is learning a new language one does pretty good progress in the beginning, say first few years. You can reach somewhat fluent level by then but then all of a sudden, it just stops. Even though you use the language and train it you just keep doing the same mistakes and active vocabulary is just as small as ever.
Currently I am learning German and frankly a bit of afraid that in few years I'll be in similar situation as aforementioned.
Comments, experiences?
English is sooo last season. Moi je veux parler français.
Mais en fait je n'ai rien a dire.
Fait froid dehors, non?
I have nothing to say. I didn't know that I need english in finnish Vauva-forum!:D But that's nice because I have to train my English a bit. How many mistakes you can find in my text?
in this context. It means that you are stunned to silence, so astonished that you cannot get a word out. I don't think that is what you meant.
But my lights are bit dim today, thanks to this cold I have caught. Nothing clever to say, I'm afraid. Any suggestions for a movie to watch?
It's a bit funny that compared to many gaming forums or chats - which are occupied by native English speakers - I find the typed language here, random Vauva-forum, grammatically much more correct.. I'm Not saying that my own typing is perfect but still.
Finns should be more proud their English skills!

Just try not to be too ashamed for being a Finn, okay?

Woody Allens Midnight in Paris. Probably you must wait until tomorrow to rent / buy it but the film is worth waiting for. Comedy, romance and lovely refers to cultural history, we enjoyed it really. My favourite is Luis Bunuel, my husbands favourite is Savador Dali.
And as a comment to a question in french earlier on in this chain, yes, it really is cold outside.
I have to practise English because it is so dominated language everywhere. I think my skills are between A2 and B1. It should be better to manage...
I'm totally lock when I have to speak English. I don't know why I'm so bad...
Thanks the "practise/practice"-thing!
