Add to My Stories An evil stepmother was behind bars today for slowly torturing her lover's little boy to death.
Sumairia Parveen, who had begun an affair with her cousin after walking out on her husband, "hated" the 17-month-old she feared threatened their relationship.
The boy's father, Abid Ikram, 30, "stood by and did nothing", while doctors repeatedly failed to spot the abuse, a court heard.
Parveen showered love on her own daughter, but subjected helpless Tahla Ikram to weeks of agonising abuse in the twisted hope he would be taken into care.
