Opinions needed ladies...
Hey all,
I've been wondering this thing for a while now and hopefully you can provide me with some answers.
So if we leave appearances aside, would you be more interested in a man who approaches you and speaks English or a Finnish speaking man?
The setting can be anywhere, not just in a bar/nightclub environment. And you don't have to be drunk either :)

can speak english 2, just cant b bothered on my free time...
Maybe you can answer me when you're at work then, LOL
You might mention that you're actually English, but if the lady prefers Finnish then... :)
Deffenetly english!
Is it something that you just feel is exotic or do you have some other reason for liking English speaking men?
Thanks for the answer btw. ;)

...wants to play it safe?
if the man is rich and good-looking, I don't mind what language he speaks. Under the right circumstances, I wouldn't even mind learning a new language.
On the other hand, if I was only looking for a bit of fun, I'd definitely pick an English-speaker over a Finn. Having said this, I generally can't stand Americans (they are as boring as Finns) and would generally prefer an educated British man. Having said this, Northerners and Scottish men are usually the best fun, and generally have low standards, which works in my favour.
I have to use english in woks but finnish is my stronger language.
I bet the "rich and good-looking" goes for nearly every woman alive.
The thing you said about low standards kind of put me off though, you should be more proud of who you are in my opinion.
Thanks for taking the time to answer this silly questionnaire though :D

The fact that I think they have low standards doesn't necessarily mean that they have. Perhaps I'm just a rough diamond and they can see through my less than picture-perfect exterior ;-)
Do you mind me asking why you're conducting this survey though?

That just might be the case right there.
For why I'm asking is because I've worked in a bar for several years when I was younger (in Finland) and I always got the feeling that English speaking men did better than Finnish speaking ones.
That plus of course a bit of boredom :D

You are right about English men doing better in Finland than Finnish ones, but I'm not sure it's to do with language. I think it's a cultural thing, they are generally better at chitchat and have a better sense of humour. And I totally believe that the saying about laughing women into bed is true. Did you have a lot of romantic success in Finland?
It's probably mostly cultural differences, but I think speaking a foreign language also makes a bit "exotic and mystical" for everyone not depending on the country you are in.
I didn't get much time to interact with anyone when I was working, since, well I was working :)
IMHO. If you'd like to come across as a mysterious foreigner, I suggest you approach ladies in Spanish or Hebrew. Arabic might not really work in a bar environment.
...that exotic, but that's why I put it "mystical" in quotes.
Anyhow it is different from Finnish and still such an universally spoken language that you might actually to get a conversation going.
Arabic might indeed be a bad choice at least in a Finnish bar :D
he's from Finland, but he (she) does lead us astray with that bizarre politeness.
Hmm, she might be from Reading, but only moved there within the last 2-3 years.
I wouldn't be interested - despite the setting.
If the guy lives in Finland permanently, that is. I wouldn't be too interested in starting a relationship with a man who's only here for a few months' assignment. Not looking for just sex.
You can also answer in Finnish, since I understand it quite well, so don't be intimidated by the language :)
