Samassa jutussa kerrotaan 0-11 -vuotiaiden lasten kuolemien nelinkertaistuneen. Kyllä siinä vaiheessa kun Suomessakin alkaa pieniä lapsia koronaan kuolemaan, otetaan rajoitukset takaisin pääle, kosna lapsissa on tulevaisuus. Näyttä nyt ikävästi silti, että nykyiset rokotukset eivät pandemiaa tule ratkaisemaan ja että delta todella on vaarallinen.
Ennenkuin käännät englanninkielistä tekstiä suomeksi, niin varmista että ymmärrät lukemaasi.
0-11 vuotiaiden SAIRASTUVUUS on nelinkertaistunut viime viikolla, ei suinkaan KUOLEMAT kuten väität.

We need to plan for a future where millions of survivors are chronically ill
Even as U.S. policy makers and business leaders seek to put the COVID pandemic in the rearview mirror with the help of highly effective vaccines, a fundamental policy and planning gap is looming. Many who survive the initial viral illness suffer debilitating long-term sequelae. Unlike the common cold or even influenza, this virus causes a bewildering array of symptoms that persist long after the acute illness is resolved and can render some affected unable to resume their usual activities. As scientists and clinicians continue to delineate the “long-haul” course of COVID, policy makers and planners must anticipate and prepare for the impact of this new cause of disability, including its implications for federal and private worker’s compensation and disability insurance programs and support services.
Consider the numbers we know. At least 34 million Americans (and probably many more) have already contracted COVID. An increasing number of studies find that greater than one fourth of patients have developed some form of long COVID. (In one study from China, three quarters of patients had at least one ongoing symptom six months after hospital discharge, and in another report more than half of infected health care workers had symptoms seven to eight months later.) Initial indications suggest that the likelihood of developing persistent symptoms may not be related to the severity of the initial illness; it is even conceivable that infections that were initially asymptomatic could later cause persistent problems.
Common long-term symptoms include fatigue; respiratory problems; “brain fog”; cardiac, renal and gastrointestinal issues; and loss of smell and taste. Surprising manifestations continue to emerge, such as the recent realization that infection may precipitate diabetes.
The related health care and disability costs are also still unknowable. How many “long haulers” will never be able to return to work? How many will need short-term disability payments? How many will be permanently disabled and become dependent on disability programs? As increasing numbers of younger people become infected, will we see an entire generation of chronically ill? The UK is creating 15 (!) long COVID clinics for children. The UK's Office for National Statistics estimate that 7-8% of children and adolescents will develop persistent symptoms lasting at least 3 months. We must vaccinate children against #COVID19.
Täh, miten ne nyt silleen? Eihän palstalla häiriköivän vakavista psyykkisistä ongelmista kärsivän anonyymitrollin mukaan mitään long covidia ole edes olemassa.
Häiriköijät melko varmasti on pitkän koronan kourissa olleet jo pitkään.
Oman tilan tunnistus on parantumisen lähtökohta.
Vaikuttaa sille että ovat löytäneet noita hurmoshenkisiä sotia aloittamaan. Monessa maassa jo tätä levittämistä.

Todellakin häpeän ja otan vastuun tästä virheestä! En ymmärrä mikä ajatuskatko juttua lukiessa oli, mutta olette oikeassa, kyse on nimenomaan sairastumisista eikä kuolemista. Olen pahoillani väärästä informaatiosta!

Hallituksen pitäis kyllä laittaa tuo raja kiinni, nyt sieltä saa tulla kiinteistön Suomessa omistavat (hallitus muutama vk sitten päätti nämäkin sallia), seurustelelevat, sukulaissuhteen perusteella jne.

Käsittämätöntä tämä ymmärtämisen heikentyminen. Toivon mukaan Aasian ja Oseanian osaavammat maat ottavat tieteen kehityksen asiakseen, Euroopassa ja Amerikoissa aletaan olla jälkeenjääneitten, voisiko sanoa kehareitten tasolla. Ja vielä laittavat typeryksiä sitä ylistämään paitsi lehtiin, myös harvoihin palstoihin joita jäljellä.
Toimiva keino on olemassa, muttei sitä käytetä.

Koko ajan rokotetaan ihmisiä niin kyllä tämä tästä. Kaikki iäkkäät on jo rokotettu ja riskiryhmät. Rokotetaan jo nuoriakin riskiryhmäläisiä.
Ketju on lukittu.
Valitettava faktahan on se että rokotettaviin kuuluvista suomalaisista kahteen kertaan rokotettuja on vasta reilu viidennes vaikka yhden rokotteen saaneiden kattavuus on verrattain hyvä.
Pidennetyn rokotevälin strategian käyttöönotosta päätettäessä tietenkään deltavariantista ei ollut tietoakaan ja vaikka olisi ollutkin, rokotevaje olisi joka tapauksessa muodostanut käytännön limitin rokotekattavuuden edistymiselle olipa strategia sitten mikä tahansa, joten mitään ideaaliratkaisua ei ole rokotevajeen vallitessa ollut olemassa.
Koska kuitenkin kahden rokotteen rokotekattavuus on se mikä se on, eli alhainen, se on ihan riittävä peruste pitää matkustustajoitukset tiukkoina varovaisuusperiaatetta noudattaen koska vaikuttaa siltä, että deltavariantti pystyy ennusteiden mukaan muodostumaan valtavirukseksi muutamassa viikossa tiukoistakin rajoituksista huolimatta ja sen leviämiskyky erityisesti rokottamattomien keskuudessa on suuri.
