Og når vi nu er i 80erne, er det meget omdiskuterede finske bidrag, heavymetal-gruppen Lordi (iklædt ork-lignende dragter/masker), som taget ud af årtiet, der gav verden puddelhundmetallen. Det er sjovt, slet ikke farligt og lige så finsk som Nokia. Finland har i årtier været en nation af tråd-elskende metalfans, faktisk ligger Lordi i den populistiske og bløde afdeling af den finske musikscene.

SECOND PRESS CONFERENCE WAS DYNAMITE
Interviews were given to 9 TV' s and many print medias and radios to following countries; Germany, Sweden, Iceland, Greece, Belgium, Luxemburg and Cyprus. Lordi stole all the attention from other artists only by coming to wait for their turn in line. They were instantly followed by tens of cameramen so that it was difficult to even move on!

To protect the innocent, we won' t tell just yet. Suffice to say, there were some extraordinary developments on Wednesday, some unforeseen turns of events that have forced us to go down sooner than intended.

Nii palju Soome ajakirjanikke ja fänne kui tänavu pole viimastel aastatel Eurovisionil ammu viibinud. Soome panustab koletiste ansamblile täie rauaga ¿ võit või kaotus? Muidugi võit! Sest pärast ABBA «Waterlood» aastal 1974 pole nii kaasakiskuvat laulu Eurovisionil nende arvates olnudki.
