Mikkeli is famous for its nightlife. There are a plenty of bars, pubs and clubs in it. The most popular clubs are Kharma, Vaakuna, Roller, Zic-Zag and Amarillo.

Usually they are famous among the locals and those who live in smaller rural communities around the said city.
Finnish people do not want to make a fuss, it' s almost embarrassing to be proud of one' s hometown, let alone one' s own life. Certainly, according to the general opinion, you could write all tourist information leaflets describing any city as a grey, dull area, with few places worth a mention. People there are quiet, hostile even and service is nothing to write home about. Food is appalling, mediocre at best.
