Did you know that the North Korean dictator’s grandmother was saved? Speaking of the Anti-Christ…Read on and be amazed at how quickly things can change…

It is hard to imagine that barely 100 years ago, Pyongyang in North Korea was an evangelical idyll. There was a boy in one of the churches in North Korea who played the organ in the worship team. This was only natural, since his parents were saved, his father was an elder and missionary in the underground church in China, and his grandfather was a pastor. Just outside the church doors, some people handed out tracts while others invited people into the service. Up until the year 1948, there were 800 Christian schools in North Korea, and street evangelization could be found everywhere throughout the city.

This is heartbreaking to say, but it turns out that the little boy who played the organ in the church’s worship team later took control of North Korea in 1948. His name was Kim Il-Sung and he eventually became the paternal grandfather of Kim Jong-Un, the North Korean negotiator at the recent political summit in Singapore.

-He applied what he had learned in church for selfish, evil gain-

Everything that Kim Il-Sung had learned in church, he implemented into a system of religion where he replaced Jesus with himself.

President Kim Il-Sung did not waste any time. He knew that Jesus was a threat to his continued power over the people. The Christians who clung to the name of Jesus were faced with major persecution. Churches were leveled to the ground. Street evangelists were mocked and scorned. Believers were murdered. Bibles and Christian books were burned.

The cult that Kim Il-Sung created around himself was called “Juche.” The word means self-reliance. At its core, it is a political ideology that claims that the North Korean people are independent and self-sufficient, exalting human capability. Kim Il-Sung said “the people are my god” and as the leader of the people, he naturally became the greatest of them all. The major trend in North Korea during the 1900’s was a new, free, and enlightened way of thinking. It would soon affect the North Korean region in the most serious of ways.

The battle cry that Kim Il-Sung carved into every North Korean heart was…”set free from God.” The secret sources within the missionary organization Light for the Peoples, who have experienced Juche firsthand, tell about the Christian characteristics behind what was happening. Worship songs were sung to the glory of Kim Il-Sung, using melodies taken from Christian songbooks. People prayed to Kim Il-Sung for miracles and people still bow in front of statues of him. The worship of the people was also extended to his successors. In North Korea, the passage of time is not based on the birth of Jesus, but on the birth of Kim Il-Sung! So, this is the year 107.

The goal of every North Korean is to be reunited in their next life with Kim Il-Sung, “the eternal president.” Every day at workplaces and schools, a “daily devotional” is held during which the writings of Kim Il-Sung are read out loud, followed by a meditation on a deeper meaning.

There is a “trinity” based on the father (Kim Il-Sung), the son (Kim Jong-Il) and the holy spirit (the spirit of the people). There is also a “Mary,” Kim Il-Sung’s mother Kan Pan-Sok. She is a central figure in the cult and is revered as “the mother of Korea.” The fact that she was actually a Christian is ignored, and instead there are texts about her that are used to manipulate North Korean mothers so that they become willing to put their ideology before their own children.

-Through the love of Jesus, North Korea can be radically changed-

If revival in North Korea could deteriorate so quickly into total darkness, then we are convinced that the country can be changed just as radically again – through the love of Jesus. God can even multiply zero legal missionaries into evangelists at every corner. Maybe that is why the government calls the Bible “an extremely dangerous book.”
