Monica Moretti, 46, lives in Casalpusterlengo, a Northern Italian town in the so-called "red zone," where tens of thousands of residents have effectively been cut off from the rest of the country as it works to stop the spread of coronavirus.
It’s the seventh day that she and her 15-year-old daughter have lived under lockdown. Most things are closed, she said, including shops, restaurants, movie theaters, banks and post offices. Only grocery stores and pharmacies remain open.
“I can't move, I can't go to work. It is also just the mental constriction. It is like being imprisoned at home. We can only go out with masks," she told CNN.
She said she feels like she's "in a movie."
"One of those catastrophe, contagion movies, where you see the epidemiologists using biohazard weapons and everyone dies. In 24 hours, we were the focus of the news, closed at home wearing masks and the panic set in amongst everyone," she said.
However, Moretti said the situation isn't as severe as what has been seen in the news.
"The way it was presented on the media, especially Italian media, is exaggerated. They make it sound like everyone inside the red zone is sick and 99% of us are OK," she said.
Despite the lockdown, life as usual is going on in the red zone. She takes afternoon walks and her family has been cooking and eating together.
"When we don’t have nothing to do, I think it’s a survival mechanism telling us: if you are in danger, eat more. So we have been cooking a lot of food," she said.

The head of the World Health Organisation today told governments to 'act aggressively' to contain the global coronavirus crisis.
Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said the major virus outbreaks in Iran and Italy in recent days 'demonstrate what this virus is capable of'.
The global health chief warned that it would be a 'fatal mistake, quite literally' for other nations to assume they will not be affected by the outbreak.
Pointing to a decline in new cases in China, Tedros said: 'It's what's happening in the rest of the world that's now our greatest concern'.

Kyllä minusta oli aika liikuttavaa, miten hallitus oli niin ylpeä siitä, miten erinomaisesti ja Euroopan ellei koko maailman parhaiten se suomalainen koronatapaus hoidettiin. Luulisi, että olivat ihan itse mukana.

Reittejä/kontakteja on pyritty selvittämään monin keinoin ja varotoimena on suljettu kouluja siellä missä mies asuu. Health officials in Germany reacted aggressively on Thursday after a man with no known connection to anyone infected with the coronavirus tested positive for the illness.
In addition to closing schools in the community where he lived, they reached out to hundreds of people who took part in a carnival celebration over the weekend where the man was also present, urging them to stay home for 14 days.
Karl-Josef Laumann, the health minister for the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, where the man lives, said that the authorities were still trying to figure out how the man had contracted the virus.
He remains critically ill and cannot provide information about his recent travels, including the period of time when he was infected and contagious but not showing symptoms.
Still, German officials said they would resist taking measures like those seen in China and, to a lesser extent, in Italy, where entire towns and cities have been locked down.
They cautioned against panic, pointing to success in preventing the spread of the virus last month through simply encouraging people to stay home.
After a man from China infected several employees of an auto producer in Bavaria in January, about 400 people who could have been at risk of spreading the virus were identified and placed in isolation in their homes.
That effectively stopped the spread of the virus, and there are no known cases of infection at this time, said Dr. Lothar H. Wieler, president of the Robert Koch Institute, the German government’s disease control and prevention agency.
Germany is in a much better position to limit the spread of the virus than China was in December, Dr. Wieler said, having the benefit of learning from the experience of the Chinese and others in coping with the infection.
“They did not know what the virus even was,” Dr. Wieler noted. “The situations cannot be compared.”
Tässä jutussa kieltämättä näkyy nämä kerrannaisvaikutukset, sen lisäksi siis että on tosi huolestuttavaa kun tartuntaketjua ei saada selville ja mies on niin huonossa kunnossa (ilmeisesti kunto siis romahti nopeasti viikonlopusta, jolloin oli vielä juhlimassa).
Sadat ihmiset siis kotikaranteeniin, ja kouluja suljetaan. Tämä tapahtuu myös Saksassa eli aika lähellä Suomea jo.
Alkaa olla aika suomalaistenkin totutella nyt siihen, että jos käyt yleisillä paikoilla konsertissa ym., on tällainen riski olemassa jos huono tuuri käy, että samaan paikkaan osuu joku tautia hautova ja pian sairastumassa oleva ihminen... eli voi tulla viranomaisilta puhelu seuraavalla viikolla ja karanteeni napsahtaa päälle, vaikka itse et kipeä olisikaan.

Wash your hands frequently
Regularly and thoroughly clean your hands with an alcohol-based hand rub or wash them with soap and water.
Why? Washing your hands with soap and water or using alcohol-based hand rub kills viruses that may be on your hands.
Maintain social distancing
Maintain at least 1 metre (3 feet) distance between yourself and anyone who is coughing or sneezing.
Why? When someone coughs or sneezes they spray small liquid droplets from their nose or mouth which may contain virus. If you are too close, you can breathe in the droplets, including the COVID-19 virus if the person coughing has the disease.
Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth
Why? Hands touch many surfaces and can pick up viruses. Once contaminated, hands can transfer the virus to your eyes, nose or mouth. From there, the virus can enter your body and can make you sick.
Practice respiratory hygiene
Make sure you, and the people around you, follow good respiratory hygiene. This means covering your mouth and nose with your bent elbow or tissue when you cough or sneeze. Then dispose of the used tissue immediately.
Why? Droplets spread virus. By following good respiratory hygiene you protect the people around you from viruses such as cold, flu and COVID-19.

CDC reminds people hand-washing is effective prevention against coronavirus
With the threat of a coronavirus pandemic looming, health officials are reminding people that hand-washing — done the right way — is one of the most effective means to keep it at bay.
This hands-on guide describes the best technique to accomplish the simple task.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advises people to spend at least 20 seconds scrubbing their hands, especially after going to the bathroom and before eating — as well as after blowing their nose, coughing or sneezing.
Follow these steps every time:
— Wet your hands with running water and apply a copious amount of soap.
— Lather your hands, rub the back of your hands and interlock your fingers.
— Scrub and rotate your hands.
— Clean your thumbs, the top of your fingers and your wrists.
— Rinse off the soap and dry your hands with a clean towel.
If soap and water are not available, use a hand sanitizer with at least 60 percent alcohol — but always use soap and water if your hands are visibly dirty.
Keep in mind that sanitizers do not get rid of all types of germs.

CNN uutisissa oltiin huolissaan siitä, onko koronaviruksen testaus tarpeeksi tehokasta Yhdysvalloissa. Siellä testataan käsittääkseni vain ne ihmiset, jotka ovat oleskelleet virusalueilla tai ovat olleet suorassa kontaktissa sairaaksi todettuun ihmiseen. Tämä sama tapa on Suomessakin käytössä. CNN:n asiantuntija Sergei Gupta kertoi, että esimerkiksi Thaimaassa testataan paljon herkemmin ja suurempia joukkoja, ja oli huolissaan siitä, että liian vähäinen testaus johtaisi virusinfektioiden jäämiseen osittain pimentoon. Luonnollisesti tästä seuraa, että jos on paljon coronasta tietämättömiä tartuttajia liikkeellä, niin yksittäiset eristyskeinot eivät riitä.

Onko muut maskit turhia kun tota ffp3 ei saa enää mistään..
Jenkkilän CDC suosittaa sikäläistä N95 -maskia hoitojenkilökunnalle. Se vastaa suunnilleen ffp2 -tasoa, jota suomessa pidetään riittämättömänä.
Siitä voi tehdä omat johtopäätökset.
Joo jenkkilässä ei vissiin sitten tiedetä tarpeeksi. N95 maski blokkaa 95% kaikista yli 300 nanometrin kokoisista hiukkasista. Covid-19 on noin 80-90 nanometriä, eli menee suoraan maskin läpi.
FFP3 maski suodattaa 99.7% yli 100 nanometrin kokoisista hiukkasista. Siitäkin covid-19 pääsee läpi, mutta ei niin helposti.

Tuon perusteella FFP2 on taso, jota hoitohenkilökunta käyttää.
sain ostettua FFP3 2 pakkausta ja FFP2 kaksi pakkausta. Niitä oli vielä K-Raudassa. Motinetissä ei ollut ja sano että tulee 10 . Hah. Siis vaan 10.
Virukseen torjuntaan kannattaa panostaa, koska mitä enemmän eristämme selkeitä tautitapauksia ja nopeammin viruksesta kehittyy lievempi muoto, joka ei aja ihmisiä sairaalaan.
Virushan ei ole hyvä tai paha. Se "haluaa" vain levitä. Jos se onnistuu parhaiten jättämällä ihmiset täysivointiseksi, se virusmutaatio jää olemaan. Näin lienee käynyt edellisille epidemioille.

Mies on 47-v. yrittäjä ja nainen on 46-v. lastentarhanopettaja. Mies siis teholla, naisella keuhkokuume.
Kouluja ja päiväkoteja suljettu maanantaihin asti. Tartuntareittiä yritetään selvittää, mutta viranomaiset pitävät tätä aika mahdottomana tehtävänä.

Muistakaa, hyvät ihmiset, että Suomessa ei koskaan tapahdu mitään pahaa ja viranomaisiin voi aina luottaa. Ja sitten totuus: valtio ei koskaan välitä aidosti yksittäisistä alamaisistaan. Meidät kaikki voidaan pakottaa vaikka rintamalle, siis kuolemaan. Ja silloinkin voidaan sanoa, että kaikki on hallinnassa ja tilanne ei ole kaoottinen. Enkä ole trolli. Muut maat, ml. No kyllä Suomessa voi viranomaisiin tai ainakin niiden apuun luottaa jos sitä hakee.
Ja mieti nyt jos ministerit ja viranomaiset haukkuisi televisiossa maataan ja viranomaisia, mitä ihmettä sillä muka saavutettaisiin, naurettavaa.
Pelkään itse tätä tautia, mutta ihmettelen myös tätä jatkuvaa päättäjien ja viranomaisten haukkumista, kyllä siellä kulissien takana täitä tehdään, vaikkeivat ne kansalle joka asiasta tiedottele, että mitä valmiuksia tehostetaan ja miten.Juuri näin.
Kävin muuten eilen kaupassa ja hyvin onnistui ostosten tekeminen ohuissa sormikkaissa, mulla sellasen missä on sisäpuoli kumia ja näppylää, en tiedä mitä ne on viralliselta nimeltään mutta ihan euron pintaan niitä saa esim tokmannilta. Niillä pystyi hyvin tekemään asiat ihan yhtälailla kuin paljain sormin, myös maksamaan kortilla.
Että laittakaapa ohuet sormikkaat kauppaan mennessä, ei siitä haittaakaan ole.
