New York Timesissa ei taaskaan puhuta kovin kauniisti EU:n toimista epidemian torjumisessa (aiheellista kritiikkiä siis esitetään rapakon takaa mielestäni):

The European Union needs to prepare for a coronavirus pandemic, the bloc’s top official for communicable diseases warned on Wednesday, as Italy struggled to control an outbreak in the north of the country.
“Our current assessment is that we will likely see a similar situation in other countries in Europe, and that the picture may vary from country to country,” said the official, Andrea Ammon, who is director of the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control.
“We also need to consider the need to prepare for other scenarios, for example large clusters elsewhere in Europe,” she added, speaking at a news conference on Wednesday in Rome.
The bloc of 27 countries, interconnected through trade and travel, has been on high alert after the coronavirus took hold in northern Italy over the weekend. The illness has already spread to other countries on the Continent, with patients in Austria, Croatia, Spain and elsewhere.
The European Commission, the European Union’s administrative branch, has been desperately herding cats, trying to get health care officials in the 27 member states to talk to each other and to share information about the virus. Despite urgent meetings in Brussels of European Union health ministers, officials say there is still scant information on what each country plans or is able to do should a larger-scale outbreak occur.
In a visit to Italy on Wednesday, the bloc’s health commissioner, Stella Kyriakides, said she had asked all countries to send her details of their pandemic preparedness, including how they planned to chase down people who had been in contact with someone who was sick.
“I urge member states to share that with us and each other, as it is important for our security,” she told reporters in Rome.

Meillä pomo pyytää aina tuomaan sairaslomalapun heti töihin kun on kipeä ja tarkistaa samalla kunnon. Pikkuflunssassa ei todellakaan saikuteta tai tulee sanomista. Pahin on jos kuume nousee kesken työpäivän, ei siitä voi kotiin lähteä tai menee putiikki kiinni. Saikut on aika ongelma kun vaan 2 työntekijää. Jos on kipeänä niin kauppa On kiinni ja yrittäjä kärsii. Että toivottavasti ei aleta pistämään kipeää karenssille. Tulee monta konkurssia
Kävin tänään hakemassa kotivaran. Pariksi viikoksi ainaskin nyt hernekeittoa ja pähkinää + muuta. En pelkää, varaudun vain. Mielestäni on viisasta varautua. Ja jos mitään radikaalia ei tapahdukkaan niin onpahan valmiiksi elintarvikkeita odottamassa syöjäänsä joita muutenkin syön.

Kannattaa muuten käydä ottamassa pneumokokkirokote jos ei vielä ole. Erityisen fataali on yhdistelmä, jossa keuhkoihin iskee bakteeri-infektio samanaikaisesti koronan kanssa.

Meillä oli pari vuotta sitten (jotain kokeilua varmaan tehdään isomman väestönosan rokottamisen vaikutuksesta) ilmainen Pneumokokkirokote tietyille riski- ja ikäryhmille. Onneksi jaksoin jonottaa. Mulla oli se aikaisempi 5 vuoden suojan antama juuri mennyt vanhaksi. Nykyinen rokote tarvitsee ottaa vain kerran.
En luottaisi tuohon rokotteeseen yhtään. Lapseni sai ensimmäisten joukossa pneumokokkirokotteen ja sairastui pneumokokin aiheuttamaan tulehdukseen. Tässä yhteydessä ilmeni että pneumokokkeja on satoja erilaisia ja rokote suojaa hyvällä tuurilla vain muutamalta

The Lancet: Chinese medical staff request international medical assistance in fighting against COVID-19
On Jan 24, 2020, we came to Wuhan, China, to support the local nurses in their fight against the COVID-19 infection. We entered the Wuhan isolation ward as the first batch of medical aid workers from Guangdong Province, China. The daily work we are doing is mainly focused on provision of oxygen, electrocardiogram (ECG) monitoring, tube care, airway management, ventilator debugging, central venous intubation, haemodialysis care, and basic nursing care such as disposal and disinfection.
The conditions and environment here in Wuhan are more difficult and extreme than we could ever have imagined. There is a severe shortage of protective equipment, such as N95 respirators, face shields, goggles, gowns, and gloves. The goggles are made of plastic that must be repeatedly cleaned and sterilised in the ward, making them difficult to see through. Due to the need for frequent hand washing, several of our colleagues' hands are covered in painful rashes. As a result of wearing an N95 respirator for extended periods of time and layers of protective equipment, some nurses now have pressure ulcers on their ears and forehead. When wearing a mask to speak with patients, our voices are muted, so we have to speak very loudly. Wearing four layers of gloves is abnormally clumsy and does not work—we can't even open the packaging bags for medical devices, so giving patients injections is a huge challenge. In order to save energy and the time it takes to put on and take off protective clothing, we avoid eating and drinking for 2 hours before entering the isolation ward. Often, nurses' mouths are covered in blisters. Some nurses have fainted due to hypoglycaemia and hypoxia.
In addition to the physical exhaustion, we are also suffering psychologically. While we are professional nurses, we are also human. Like everyone else, we feel helplessness, anxiety, and fear. Experienced nurses occasionally find the time to comfort colleagues and try to relieve our anxiety. But even experienced nurses may also cry, possibly because we do not know how long we need to stay here and we are the highest-risk group for COVID-19 infection. So far 1716 Chinese staff have been infected with COVID-19 and nine of them have unfortunately passed away. Due to an extreme shortage of health-care professionals in Wuhan, 14 000 nurses from across China have voluntarily come to Wuhan to support local medical health-care professionals. But we need much more help. We are asking nurses and medical staff from countries around the world to come to China now, to help us in this battle.
We hope the COVID-19 epidemic will end soon, and that people worldwide will remain in good health.

Tuo on sellainen ongelma johon jokaisen täytyy itse hakea ratkaisuja.
Moni työnantaja hyväksyy ylimääräiset palkattomat lomat. Varsinkin jos tämä korona heikentää yrityksen tuloja niin työnantaja myöntää mielellään palkattoman loman.
Omalla kohdalla työnantaja ratkaisi kaikki lastenhoito-ongelmat pari vuotta sitten. Uutta työtä en ole löytänyt, välillä vaan pieniä pätkiä olen onnistunut saamaan.
Siksi on helppo tehdä päätös ottaa lapset pois koulusta. Meillä on ensi viikolla talviloma ja nyt näyttää siltä että en uskalla päästää loman jälkeen lapsia kouluun.
Kotikoulua olen pitänyt ennenkin kun lapsi on ollut pitkään sairaana. Varmasti sama onnistuu nytkin.

Ei tarvitse heti ottaa itseensä. NYT kritisoi paljon myös USA:n omia toimia. Sitä paitsi tässä oli nyt puhe Euroopasta tällä kertaa.

Suomessa noin 140 000 hoitajaa ja 20 000 lääkäriä eli 160 000 yhteensä. Wuhanin määrää emme tiedä, mutta oletetaan että saman verran, sillä vaikka Kiinan bruttokansantuote ei ole yhtä hyvä kuin Suomessa, työvoimaa heillä riittää.
Suomessa on noin puolet vähemmän asukkaita kuin Wuhanissa (5, 5 milj. / 11 milj.).
Wuhanissa on tilastojen mukaan sairastunut koronaan noin 1 % (THL:n ylilääkäri Nohynek) ja siellä on tarvittu 40 000 lisätyövoimaa. Jos Suomessa sairastuisi saman verran, Suomessa mahdollisesti tarvittaisiin lisätyövoimaa 20 000.
Tosiasiassa Suomessa voi sairastua paljon enemmän kerralla, sillä samanlaisiin karanteeneihin ei pystytä eikä niitä haluta. Silloin työvoiman tarvekin voi olla moninkertainen.
Aika kusessa ollaan jos monet terveydenhuollon ammattilaiset sairastuisivat. Mistäs sitten revitään lääkäreitä ja sairaanhoitoa? Lääkiksestä kesken opintojen? Vaikuttaa myös muidenkin tautien hoitoon, tulevaisuudessa kuolleisuus voi senkin takia noista, kun ei ole tarpeeksi henkilöstöä hoitamaan sairauksia.
Jos Korona iskee kunnolla, on sillä hirvittävä vaikutus moneen asiaan.

Ketkä haluaa hölöttää koronasta, siirtykää tuohon Koronasta kevyemmin -ketjuun. Sellainen aiheesta chattailu voisi olla siellä. En tarkoita, että pitäisi vähätellä tai mitään, mutta jos haluaa puhua "tunteistaan" ym. Ja tähän ketjuun FAKTA-ASIAA. Täältä muu hölötys pois. Toivon, että viranomaisetkin todella löytäisivät täältä näitä tiedonjyviä mitä tänne laitetaan - tämä on toimittajienkin keskuudessa tunnettu keskustelu. Ja esim. ministerien avustajakaartilla voi olla aikaa seurata nettikeskustelua - pitäisi ainakin. Ja toki ministereilläkin. Ja THL:llä ym.
Nostelkaa tätä viestiä aika ajoin, että tämä pyyntö menisi ihmisten tietoon.
Anteeksi nyt vaan, mutta mikäli viranomaiset ja mediat käyttävät AV:tä primäärilähteenään niin helekutin kiireesti perseet ylös ja tekemään oikeita töitä!
Edelleen missä ovat suomalaisten tekemät tutkimukset korona-viruksen ominaisuuksista? Eivät ehdi tutkimaan kun selaavat tätä ketjua... Painukaa töihin siitä ja tuottamaan tietoa meille ketjulaisille!

Voi kuule. tutkimukset löytyy heti tuoreeltaan netistä, WHO:n ja USA:n tartuntatautilaitoksen tiedotustilaisuudet suorana netissä ym. Ei ole mitään salaista tietoa - paitsi netissä voi olla videoita ja tekstejä joista saa "salaista" epävirallista tietoa, mutta näitähän viranomaiset ei pääasiassa seuraa, vaikka kyllä kannattaisi. Ne ovat niitä seuraavan viikon "uutisia" - kuten tässä korona-asiassakin on käynyt selväksi.
Ei se kaikki tieto ole avointa, ovatko skenaariot esim liian pelottavia kun tilaisuuden sisältö on pitänyt julistaa salaiseksi:

Tuliko jollekin yllätyksenä, että terveyspalveluissa on hierarkia? Tärkeimpiä hoidettavia on lapset, nuoret ja työikäiset. Yli 65-vuotiaat, vammaiset yms. eivät ole tärkeimpiä. Vakavaan pandemiaan rokottaminen aloitetaan lapsista ja edetään ikäluokka kerrallaan, jos siis rokote olisi. Eli ei vanhus ja varsinkaan valmiiksi sairas ole se, joka varmimmin tehohoitoa saa. Ja tämä on toki ihan ymmärrettävää yhteiskunnan ja talouden kannalta.
Entäs minä, sairaslomalla oleva mielenterveyskuntoutuja? Ei varmaan mt-ongelmaiset ole ainakaan etusijalla, ensiksi hoidetaan muuten terveet ja työkykyiset.

Tämähän on tietenkin propagandatrollihuhu, mutta mikäli kyse bioaseesta olisi niin kaikki merkit viittaavat kyllä Yhdysvaltain/Britannian ja ehkä heidän Venäjäkontaktiensa suuntaan.

Kysynpähän vaan.1. Iran valmistelee ydinaseita.
2. Ei usko, että jenkeissä kävisi huonosti ja onhan se USAn kannalta hyvä, jos Kiina heikkenisi taloudellisesti ja löhi-idän maat kokonaisuudessaan.
3. Pystyy massatestaamaan hetken. Tämä luo turvallisuuden tuntua kansalaisiin. 50 000 sairastunutta päivystyksessä vähillä resursseilla on huonompi vaihtoehto.
4. Venäjällä on ihan takuuvarmasti tartuntoja. Niistä ei kerrota ja Venäjä, samoin kuin Kiina, yhtäkkiä kadottaa asioista kertovat. Hups vaan, oho löytyikin päähän ammuttuna.1. Niinpä. Ja siksihän USA haluaa Iranin romahtavan.
2. Miksi sitten oli aivan hysteerinen Ebolan osalta, vaikka realistinen leviämisuhka oli paljon, paljon pienempi? Mietityttää kyllä että siellä on nyt jotain tietoa salaisesta vastalääkkeestä.
3. Aivan. Entä jos on näytös, jolla pystytään selittämään miksi tartuntoja ei tule?
4. Venäläiset pääsevät sosiaaliseen mediaan edelleen. Kyllä sieltä vuotaisi tieto jos niitä tartuntoja olisi.
Kun nyt kerran tähän lähdettiin, niin Wuhanissa on Kiinan tärkein bioaseiden laboratorio. Yllättäen epidemia puhkesi juuri siellä, sopii googletella asiaa.
Toki samantyyppisiä bioaseita kehittää jokainen suurvalta, Intiaa ja Pakistanissa myöten.

Suomessa yleisesti ei katsota hyvällä flunssan takia saikuttavia. Olen suurkeittiöalalla ja tapana on että särkylääkettä naamaan ja töihin. Voisin kuvitella myös että työpaikallani korona leviäisi muutenkin hyvin, tarttuen ensin juuri keittiötyöntekijöihin (tiski ym) jotka superlevittäisivät sen koko 1000 päiväasiakkaaseen. Täten toivon todellakin sitten viranomaisilta selkeät ohjeet mm.ravintolatyöntekijöiden flunssanoireisina työskentelyyn, jota työnantaja ei voi kieltää.
