Dr Shoo Lee, a Canadian neonatologist whose work was cited by the prosecution in the original trial, said a team of 14 neonatologists had reviewed each of the case, finding flaws in the prosecutions evidence in all of them.

He said: There was no medical evidence to support malfeasance causing death or injury in any of the 17 cases at the trial. Death or injury of all the infants were due to natural causes or medical care.
