Sun Ra oli kaikin puolin varsin hämmentävä tapaus

Wikipedia kertoo mm. seuraavaa:

"Sun Ra väitti kuuluvansa enkelirotuun ja olevansa kotoisin Saturnus-planeetalta. Hän kehitti oman monimutkaisen kosmisen filosofiansa sekä valveutuneisuutta ("awareness") ja rauhaa korostavan, usein runojen muotoon puetun sanoman. Sun Ra vastusti myös usein puheissaan rasismia sekä huumeiden käyttöä. Sun Ran syntymäajasta ei ole varmaa tietoa. Hän on antanut lukuisia eri päivämääriä siitä, milloin hän "saapui maanpäälle". Monet näistä päivämääristä ovat ajoitukseltaan varsin muinaisia. Metallimusiikin puolelta tulee mieleen Billy Milano, joka on paitsi varsin värikäs hahmo, myös tunnettu poliittisista mielipiteistään. Tässä yksi:
