We ask the European Council to designate the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv, as the “European Capital of Culture and Peace 2022”.
We consider the military attack of the Russian Government against Ukraine as an attack on freedom and democracy, arts and culture.
As a sign of solidarity, we plead for building cultural bridges.
As a sign of unity, we pay our due respect towards the citizens of Ukraine.
As a sign of peace, we stand for dialogue and the protection of Ukraine and and its culture.
We ask the European Council to send a clear and strong message against war by designating Kyiv as the "European Capital of Culture and Peace 2022".
