Briteissä on kuitenkin viime vuosina tapahtunut useita tapauksia, joissa ongelmaperheessä asunut väkivallan uhrina ollut lapsi on menehtynyt sen takia, että sosiaalihuolto ei ole tarttunut tilanteisiin riittävän ponnekkaasti.

Baby P:n tapaus on vain yksi esimerkki tilanteista,joissa sosiaalihuolto (tai mikä termi Briteissä sitten onkaan) ei ole toiminut riittävän aktiivisesti. Baby P:n perheellä oli 60 kontaktia sosiaalihuollon kanssa ja tästäkin huolimatta poikaa ei saatu pelastettua. Aaronin kohdalla taasen ilmiannon jälkeen ainut mitä sosiaalihuolto sai aikaiseksi oli se, että he lähettivät kirjeen lapsen äidille, väärään osoitteeseen.

Ihmisten pahuudesta ja siitä ettei kukaan auttanut johtuen ei Aaronia ja Peteriä enää ole.

We would like to write a letter to the UK government comparing the UK's inadequate justice system with other countrie that punish child abusers appropriately. All too regularly, the UK gives child abusers ridiculously low prison sentences. If you are aware of any recent examples of satisfactory sentences handed out for child abuse or related deaths please could you post them on this thread with a link to the article and a brief translation if not in English.
